Diggers Rest Lions, a Club with Heart - January 2015
You may have met them in their caravan at the Bloomdale Family Fun Day, but there's more to the Diggers Rest Lions Club than delicious hot jam doughnuts.

A group of 15 friends who work together to help the local community and people in need, the Diggers Rest Lions meet twice a month to share ideas and choose which
projects to support.

According to Club Secretary Bob MacKay, the group has been working on a range of projects, including raising funds for cancer research via Relay for Life, sponsoring the

Diggers Rest Primary School Carols night and building a monument in honour of World War 1 heroes.

"Joining our club means being a good friend who enjoys being a responsible part of the community," Mr MacKay said.

"Our members often see each other outside of the meetings and support each other in many other ways."

If you're interested in meeting some caring people with down to earth principles, then please call Bob on 0429 786 665.
